Our Mission
Our Vision
Main objective
Empowering and developing secondary school learners by connecting them with mentors and other resources in their communities
Our Goals
To provide innovation and incubation hubs in schools
Experience-based learning is what makes an education practical. People learn best when they can apply the knowledge they have gained directly to their lives. It is experience that is the best teacher. Experience is necessary in order for young people to build the skills necessary, innovate, to lead change and create jobs.
To provide mentorship by connecting learners with mentors
As the great African proverb says “If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.” It is for this reason that we believe education is not just about information; it is also about relationships. Learners should feel supported enough to take risks, motivated to persist in the face of challenges, and confident in the guidance they receive. The core programs begin at the start of secondary school and provide ongoing support past graduation
To provide networking opportunities through exchange programs
In order to develop leaders with the confidence and persistence they need to succeed, GUiDE believe it is necessary to connect young people to learn and support each other across a long period of time. The learners hold networking and exchange programs in various venues through various for a for the same
To provide youth leadership training and workshops
Developing learners’ self-awareness, supporting them in overcoming personal challenges, and guiding them towards a personal vision is the foundation for their futures as professionals, leaders and entrepreneurs. This foundation will give them the drive they need to realize the vision they have for their country.
To provide career training and development
Education should serve the purpose of preparing learners for careers and the market place. A relevant education must be grounded in the most necessary and applicable skills, preparing the next generation to improve their lives immediately and ultimately to improve livelihoods for themselves and their communities.
To provide digital literacy training and tools/resources
Digital literacy in education is completely changing the whole learning experience. Learners care enabled to access a wealth of resources online, engage in interactive learning and develop skills that prepare them for the future workforce.
Our commitment
To Empower young people to believe they can be the best they want and walking with them in their journey of free thinking, self-discovery, creativity, innovativeness and initiatives so that they can positively change their lives and that of their communities.
GUiDE Project strives to be an important part of the education experience of a young person in the school secondary school curriculum. The experience will provide a ‘guided catharsis’ for learners – assuring the right amount of structured experience – but with plenty of opportunity for self-discovery, personal development and change. Young people are assured to be focused, confident, independent, mature young leaders
Why the mission
The impact of tomorrow’s quality of individual and community’s life depends on the quality of today’s education and life experiences of the young learners. While the Kenyan education system is adequately preparing learners for examinations and high grades, the learners lag behind in self-knowledge, career choices, creative and innovative initiatives. Young people need more than good grades only, to tackle the world’s most pressing challenges and build the future they want for themselves and their communities. .
GUiDE Project seek to accompany learners in schools so that they get the best not only in academics, but more importantly in experiences through structured guidance and mentoring that will help them to develop a great identity, choose the right careers, be creative and innovative and above all, solve individual and community existing and emerging problems. This is done through mentorship and guidance, training and development, social enterprise initiatives. GUiDE’s social enterprises projects will promotes a passion for social entrepreneurship and business acumen. GUiDE ultimately, shall seek to establish the school as a Resource Center for advancing the cause of developing young people for the future enabling them to take up existing and create new opportunities on the horizon, and make a positive change in their lives and the community. GUiDE seeks to supplement and not replace or be an alternative to the existing education system by developing young people in response to their needs, that of their schools and that of their communities.
